The celebrity didn’t care if she seemed rude in her statement.
Even Zendaya, the ideal of beauty and fashion, got harshly criticized. The actress did not keep silent and shamed the “judge” for the insult.
While commenting on Zendaya’s African hairstyle, “Fashion Police” Giuliana Rancic said she probably smelled like marijuana. At the 2015 Oscars, the “Euphoria” star chose a thoughtful look to inspire black women and girls. Rancic’s words were so offensive the Emmy award winner expressed her indignation on the social media page.
“There is a fine line between what is funny and disrespectful. Someone said something about my hair at the Oscars that left me in awe. To say that an 18-year-old young woman with locs must smell of patchouli oil or 'weed' is not only a large stereotype but outrageously offensive. Certain remarks cannot go unchecked. I suggest some people should listen to India Arie’s ‘I Am Not My Hair’ and contemplate a little before opening your mouth so quickly to judge.”
