This is one of the coolest stories about two politicians.
Winston Churchill had an addiction that was passed on to his daughter Sara. The “culprit” of this addiction was Stalin.
During the Yalta Conference, the head of the Soviet Union offered Armenian brandy to the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Churchill liked the drink with a unique taste so much that Stalin decided to send him a box of it every month. As Winston’s daughter later noted, the “tradition” didn’t stop even after her father’s death.
Sara also admitted that, like her parent, she was a big fan of Armenian “Ararat” brandy.
“I like a brandy with my cigar.”
“My father passed away, but we continued receiving every month a case of ‘Ararat’. Many years later, someone realizes that the Embassy has been sending brandy to a “dead” Churchill for the past ten years! Unfortunately from that day on our source of the Armenian brandy dried up! By the way, I used to enjoy ‘Ararat’ as much as my father.”
