The country had a reasonable excuse.
Apparently, Snoop Dogg didn’t learn from his old mistakes. The rapper had been banned again from Australia for his behavior.
Australia’s immigration minister, Kevin Andrews, said Dogg would not be allowed to enter the country on a short-stay visa because of his extensive criminal record. The star had been due to participate in MTV’s Australian Video Music Awards in Sydney.
Previously, Snoop pleaded no contest to felony, gun, and drug charges in Los Angeles court and was sentenced to five years probation and 800 hours of community service. According to Mr. Andrews, the government’s decision to deny the rapper pass was based on “character grounds” and his overstay of a previous visa by two days. Dogg had been warned last time that any further transgression could lead to severe restrictions.
"He has a whole string of convictions. He doesn't seem the sort of bloke we want in this country.”
