The young musician risked portraying a gay man in the “Kingdom”. The Netflix show appeared to be too controversial for the fans’ taste. There was even a scene where the “Sucker” singer had to kiss a guy. Some of Jonas’ lovers turned their backs on him.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Nick admitted although losing devoted admirers scared him, the experience was worth it.
“Of course. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little fearful. But you have to be willing to say, ‘I know I’m pushing myself, and if not everybody comes with me, that’s OK.’ I’m just thankful that a lot of them did.”
