Michael Jackson’s Decision to Take Out Dirty Diana from Concert Upset Lady D
The suppressed woman’s soul wanted to have fun.
In one of the interviews, Michael Jackson gave out all the secret sides of Princess Diana. Turns out Lady D kept something from Prince Charles.
Before the concert in London in 1997, the Princess approached the singer and asked if he would perform “Dirty Diana”. Apparently, it was her favorite song, and she got a bit upset Michael withdrew it from the program. As the King of Pop shared Diana’s husband, Charles soon came up, but his wife didn’t share details of the previous conversation.
“At one point she called me away from the line. And I saw Prince Charles look at me. And I said ‘Oh boy.’ She said ‘I want to talk to you. Are you going to do Dirty Diana tonight?’ No, I took it out of the show out of respect to you. She said ‘That’s my favorite song.’ At that point, I couldn’t put it back to the show because it was too close to the showtime. I remember Prince Charles leaving the line and walking over us and he said ‘What are you talking about?’ She said, ‘Oh Nothing.’”
