The live broadcast with the celebrity was against any TV show rule.
At a young age, Madonna set a record in the history of American television, but in a negative sense. Twenty years later, the singer returned to justify her inappropriate act.
The controversial artist from the ’90s seemed to have “ruined” the episode of the “Letterman” late-night show in 1995. In 20 minutes of the interview, Madonna managed to utter more than 10 swear words. The host, David Letterman, was obviously feeling awkward.
Even though everyone thought people would not like the video, it gained a lot of views. Many years later, the musician confessed during the Howard Stern podcast the problem at the time was her ex-boyfriend Tupac Shakur. As the “Frozen” hitmaker said, dating the rapper made her feel like a bad girl.
“I was in a weird mood that day. I was dating Tupac Shakur at the time, and he had got me all riled up about life in general. So when I went on the show I was feeling very gangster.”
