The artist had no idea her feelings were mutual.

Jodie Foster took the phrase “nothing personal — just business” to heart. Only in the actress’ case, it wasn’t business but her job in filmmaking.

The Hollywood celebrity confessed in an interview that she and Anthony Hopkins never conversed while starring in “The Silence of the Lambs”. Every time the cameras were off, these two brilliant actors kept to themselves and tried not to cross each other’s paths.

Only at the end of the shootings did Hopkins and Foster exchange a few words and find out both were afraid of one another.

“I never spoke to him. He was scary. The first day we had a reading of the script. We did the read-through of the film and by the end of it I never wanted to talk to him again. I was petrified. We got to the end of the movie and we had never really had a conversation. I really avoided him. The last say I said with a tear in my eye ‘I was really scared of you’. He said ‘I was scared of you!’. Why would anyone be scared of me? I don't know.”
