Life is sometimes full of surprises.
If Hillary Clinton had followed her childhood dream, the USA probably wouldn't have a strong first lady and a leading politician. The epic rejection became an often-told story of the former presidential candidate.
Mrs. Clinton’s strongest ambition was to become an astronaut. The American aviator Amelia Earhart inspired her to write a letter to NASA. Fortunately or not, Hillary got rejected and soon realized she was unqualified because of her poor vision and physical build. Later, the politician shared this story to encourage women to follow their dreams:
“My dream was to be an astronaut when I was about 13 or 14 years old. So I wrote a letter to the NASA space agency and asked how I could become an astronaut. And I got a letter back saying that they weren’t accepting women. Now, I have to be very honest with you. I could never have qualified, because I couldn’t see very well and wasn’t that athletic. But it was a dream, and I have been thrilled to see young women follow that dream and do so with such skill.”
