The movie star forwent his ambitions not to lose everything.
Channing Tatum signed a deal and instantly regretted it. The actor had no way out; otherwise, he’d face a trial.
In 2015 the “Magic Mike” star admitted that “G. I. Joe” by Paramount Pictures was probably the worst movie he had ever participated in. In the Howard Stern podcast, Tatum confessed he was attracted to big money. But as soon as Channing read the script, he knew it wouldn’t work. Unfortunately, the actor couldn’t quit the part, or he’d risk the lawsuit from the company.
“Look, I’ll be honest, I f*cking hate that movie. I was pushed into doing that movie. They give you the contract and they go, ‘Three picture deal, here you go!’ And as a young actor you're like, ‘Oh my God, that sounds amazing, I’m doing that!’ The script wasn’t any good. No option. ‘You’re doing this or we’re going to sue you.’”
