It was out of his power.
One insignificant detail of “Gone Girl” made the crew of filmmakers pause the production. Leading actor Ben Affleck and director David Fincher had conflicting ideas.
In the movie scene, Ben’s character had to wear a baseball cap, and the director suggested it be the Yankees one since the portrayed couple was from New York. But as Affleck grew up in Boston, he couldn’t wear rival’s markings.
The actor knew he would never hear the end of it. And so, the head accessory became a serious threat to shootings.
“I said, 'David, I love you, I would do anything for you. 'But I will not wear a Yankees hat. I just can't. I can't wear it because it's going to become a thing, David. I will never hear the end of it. I can't do it.' And I couldn't put it on my head."
