The singer was concerned with society's problems.
Jon Bon Jovi didn’t put up with the surrounding reality. He decided to relieve the lives of the poor in an unusual way.
Together with his wife Dorothea, Bon Jovi wanted to help down-and-outs in their community, so they opened a restaurant with no prices. Diners paid what they could afford, sometimes leaving more to help cover the costs for others. Those who didn’t have a penny could volunteer for an hour of cooking, washing dishes, busing tables, or waitressing.
The sufferings on the streets inspired the megastar to build such a unique establishment.
“One in six people in America are suffering at night and going to bed hungry, and one in five families live at or below the poverty line.”
