Ashton Kutcher's love for his brother, Michael Kutcher, was so strong he wanted to give everything up to save his twin's life. Once, the celebrity made a risky announcement.
Michael, at the age of 13, was diagnosed with viral cardiomyopathy, and his heart grew four times the size of a normal one. He was told he had three to four weeks to live. Shortly after, the boy went into cardiac arrest, with his life expectancy shortening to 48 hours.
Before a donor's heart came through, Ashton said he wished to donate his organ. Although Michael eventually got a heart from a suitable person, his brother's gesture touched him greatly.
“It’s just... I can’t find the words. It’s a connection that you can’t explain. In all seriousness, we’re just very connected... It’s an honour or deep appreciation and a deep love for someone who would sacrifice that for you. I really can’t put words to it.”
